Here is the edited XML file (that is placed in the ProPlus.WW folder): We have deployed 2007 Pro Plus via MSI just fine. Has anyone go any ideas what I have done wrong. I have tried copying the config.xml file to the root of the install directory and that does not work either when I run the proplusww.msi and I still get the error 1713. I have tried editing the config.xml file in the proplus.ww directory and it looks like this If I run setup now it thinks a bit and only asks one question do I want to upgrade and then it installs perfectly. This creates a msp file that you have to copy to the update folder. I have created a share and copied the cd to the server. You'll notice some of it I havent touched as im a bit usure as to what it does! Ok thanks for the suggestion, gave it a go, still no joy! Hers the code hope this helps!! Has anyone got any ideas why this wouldn't be picking up its settings from this file!! I will be happy to paste in the file if anyone needs to see it minus the key of course!! The MSI is a file called ProPlusWW.msi ( this took me a while to find as theres several MSI's on the disk) the config.xml file sits in the same folder as the MSI, Ive also tried i copy the config.xml file to the root setup folder! Now i've edited this file inserting the CD key and hoped it would all be sorted, however it still asks for the key! The original MSI is copied from the CD (the whole cd contents) and placed in a shared area on are server (the cd as it came). To install it, you need an installation disc for your version (and a product key of course). Since Office 2007 is out of support, you can't download it any more. However having tested the application it needs the CD key inserting on each machine, this just won't do! I contacted a colleague of mine at another school and he tells me I need to edit the config.xml file and sent me a very useful link:Ĭonfig.xml file in the 2007 Office system In reply to Stefan Blom's post on October 5, 2020. Having spent nearly 2 days trying to find out how to get the software installed using the correct MSI off the CD () I now have office install! Hurray! Ok quick question, Ive been trying now for about a week to deploy Office Pro Plus Via MSI.
